This game is complicated. The story starts with a powerful dark wizard named Mordred Darkthrop creating two orbs of magic named Orb of Light and Orb of Darkness: One to preserve light, one to take it away forever. And there's a catch. Only a Darkthrop descendant can use both orbs (because Mordred Darkthrop is an evil, greedy man who wanted to rule the world alone.) And with both orbs in his hand, he could manipulate light and darkness, humans and vampires to turn on each other. He's terrible the maniacal evil. 

But his son is a kindred soul with a good conscience and he tried to prevent his own father. And to prevent the orbs from being ever used, he killed his own father and sacrificed himself along with it, so there's no one left with Mordred blood in them can ever activate it. But his effort are wasted sillily because his own wife didn't tell him that she is pregnant with his child (Which means the Darkthrop family blood didn't really die when he sacrificed himself) because her wife didn't thought it would matter. It mattered. 

Fast forward to present day, you are now Mel, a notorious thief situated on Halburg. On another normal thieving night, a stranger handed you a huge assignment to steal a family heirloom from Darkthrop Keep (and Mel doesn't know that the keep was her old evil great-great-great grandpa's keep) and agreed upon a 200 gold coins with the stranger, 100 taking the job while another 100 after retrieving the heirloom.

Surprise, she didn't knew that she was stealing the Orb of Darkness and she also didn't know she was working with a vampire who wanted to enslave humans as their fridge meals. His name was Gyendal. And so started the tale of Mel Darkthrop as she seek to obtain the Orb of Light before Gyendal learned to activate the orb of Darkness to take away the sun and plunge the world in darkness so that Vampires can walk amongst humans (and eat them). XD Does that gets your head spinning?

The four part series is played in topdown 2D view BUT... it's rich in graphic, rich story, rich in tactical battles (think Final Fantasy battle), every places you go have their own soundtracks, tons of quest to solve and tons and tons of sidequests to solve. Yep. There's a lot of things you can do here. Not too shabby of a game. It definitely reminds me of Final Fantasy. It even have a world map.

The most greatest thing in this game lies in battle progression. You have to A) Level up your party, B) Decides who to enter battle (when you have 5 member in party), C) Get newest Equipments in every Towns you Visit. If you don't do them successfully, you will definitely die when you meet difficult enemies and bossfights and you'll have to saveload in strong enemies area so you don't 'run' into them and trigger battle. 

But no worries bout that if you levelled goodly in the game. It's fun actually and sometimes you need to look up a walkthrough because you're going to get stuck in the game one way or another. 

In a story that spanned in four separate parts, can you truly prevent darkness from ruling the world or are you sad sop that can't defeat the evil monsters? 

P.S : I finished this first part (and I didn't do some of the sidequests) in 6 hours 30-ish minutes. And I normally don't play that much in most games in two sittings. So go ahead, try this little babies.
